Mazda will increase its capacity to produce Mexican
Mazda Motor Manufacturing de Mexico SA de C. V (MMMdM), a joint venture production detained by Mazda Motor Corporation and Sumitomo Corporation, announced Jan. 3, 2012 that its production capacity in its plant currently under construction in Salamanca, Mexico will be increased during the fiscal year ending in March 2016.
MMMdM begin its activities in the new plant in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ending in March 2014 with an initial production of 140,000 units per year. This capacity will be increased to reach 230,000 units in the fiscal year ending in March 2016. This increase will be facing increased annual production of about 50,000 units of vehicles of the Toyota brand from the summer 2015, and the global increase in demand for vehicles equipped Mazda SKYACTIV technology.
