Records of hybrid models and truck sales climb 18.4% are sales of Toyota Canada Inc. with respect to last year

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) has recorded a total sales of 192,058 vehicles in 2012, an increase of 18.4% over 2011.

Highlights, note a record truck sales (up 11.0%), an increase of 167.2% of hybrid sales and a 22.5% increase in sales of Scion vehicles. Lexus has also recorded the second best year in its history, with a 13.0% increase in sales.

Highlights of Toyota sales for December 2012 (compared to 2011)

Toyota sales: 10578 :: 171 174 for the year (up 18.7%)

Sales of passenger cars Toyota: 5131 :: 93 514 for the year (up 25.5%)

Sales of Yaris Hatchback: 413 :: 8440 for the year (up 76.4%)

Corolla sales: 2371 :: 40 906 for the year (up 11.6%)

Camry sales: 710 :: 14 765 for the year (up 32.6%)

Toyota truck sales: 5447 :: new annual record of 77,660 (up 11.4%)

Sales Tacoma 4x4: 803 :: new annual record of 9523 (up 33.6%)

Sales of Canadian-built RAV4: 1487 :: new annual record of 25,942 (up 20.4%)

Sales Tundra 4X4: 520 :: 7025 for the year (up 8.7%)

Sales Highlander: 487 :: 5735 for the year (up 21.1%)

Sales 4Runner: 250 :: 2878 for the year (up 11.6%)

Sienna sales: 779 :: 11 858 for the year (up 9.4%)

Sales of Toyota hybrids: 928 :: new annual record of 14,595 (up 250%) :: hybrids represented 8.5% of sales for Toyota in 2012

Sales of the Prius family: 614 :: December :: new record for new annual record of 10,041 (up 370.5%)  

Sales of Prius v: 242 :: 4077 for the year

Prius sales c: 179 :: 2530 :: year for this model accounted for 16.6% of all sales of subcompact Toyota in 2012

Sales of hybrid Highlander: 123 :: 1116 for the year (up 33.2%)

Sales of hybrid Camry: 191 :: 3438 for the year (up 187.0%)

Sales CT 200h: 92 :: new annual record of 1640 (up 21.5%)

Sales of Lexus luxury SUVs: 602 :: 7765 for the year (up 6.5%)

Sales RX: 478 :: 6388 for the year (up 5.2%)

Sales LX: 14 :: 259 for the year (up 127.2%)
