Ford GT40 Gulf / Mirage 1968 sold 11 million

The last week at the presentation of the auction RM Auctions in Monterey, California, was sold a Gulf / Super Ford GT40 Mirage 1968 for the modest sum of $ 11 million.

We're talking about a record amount for an American car this auction of international stature.

Recall that this exceptional car has been used, among others, the scenes of racing film Le Mans, running in 1971 and starring Steve McQueen.

For the occasion, he had his roof amputee to place cameras to follow the race cars and take up shooting.

As is customary at the auction sale of very expensive goods, the name of the happy owner of the Ford GT40 Gulf / Mirage 1968 remains a well kept secret.
