Sebastian Vettel returns to the success at the Bahrain GP

Decried by many analysts and observers who absolutely wanted the world of Formula 1 to take sides in political conflicts which agitate the country, the Bahrain Grand Prix was indeed held last weekend. The fourth round of the 2012 season of World Championship Formula 1 Sakhir circuit and stands very little satisfied (but that, it was already the case with previous editions of this test!) Has all the same has been joking follow on track.

After the podium 100% Mercedes engines a week earlier in China, it is a podium 100% Renault that we could see was Bahrain, while the double world champion title Sebastian Vettel has clinched his first victory season. Deja author of the pole position after the qualifying session, Vettel and Red Bull-Renault dominated the entire race, winning before the two Lotus-Renault drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean.

For the Finns, it is a first podium since September 2009 (GP Italy Monza) and his return to F1 this year. As for his team-mate Romain Grosjean, after a difficult debut season, he finally materialized places hopes in him. It is also the first time a french pilot watch on the podium in Formula 1 since Jean Alesi in 1998.

Mark Webber in the second Red Bull-Renault, complete the "Top 4", ahead of Nico Rosberg, whose Mercedes was significantly down compared to the Chinese GP. Paul Di Resta (Force India-Mercedes), Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), Lewis Hamilton (McLaren-Mercedes), Felipe Massa (Ferrari) and Michael Schumacher (Mercedes) round off round the top ten. This is the first time this season that the two Ferrari drivers score points while Hamilton is the only McLaren driver on arrival, having abandoned Button suite has a broken exhaust.

In NASCAR, the Sprint Cup Series and Camping World Trucks occurred on the Oval 1500 Kansas City. A track that traditionally does not offer a very exciting show and, alas, it was again the case this time! Sprint Cup, Denny Hamlin (Toyota) to win by five lengths ahead of Martin Truex Jr. (Toyota also). Jimmie Johnson (Chevrolet) finished third. In the series vans, James Buescher (Chevrolet) is required.

In Europe, the Zolder circuit in Belgium hosted the second round of the season World Championship FIA GT Cars. Only seventeen crews took the departure of a race that was exciting all the same, won by New Zealander Matt Halliday and his French teammate Mike Parisy, flying a Porsche 911 GT3-R prepared by England and instituted by a Chinese stables! Good example of globalization ...

The next weekend, NASCAR and IndyCar will be featured, with tests presented in Richmond Virginia for the NASCAR series, and in the streets of Sao Paulo (Brazil) for IndyCar. The World Rally Championship (WRC) will also be in action in Argentina.
