The Grand-Am series back in Montreal in 2012

Belonging to the organization NASCAR, Grand-Am Rolex Series Sports Car is an American Sports Car Championship prototype and GT. Created in 2000, it is positioned as a less expensive alternative to the American Le Mans. Each year, the 24 Hours of Daytona mark the opening of the season while a stop is planned at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve last five years, as part of the weekend NASCAR Montreal.

This will remain the case in 2012 as Grand-Am has officially confirmed its presence at the event which will take place on 17 and 18 August. With so many novelties track since henceforth manufacturers are allowed (they were allowed only as far engine) in the category of prototype cars.

GT, in addition to Chevrolet Camaro, Mazda RX-8, Porsche GT3 Cup and other Corvette, it will be interesting to see the beginnings of the Audi R8 LMS, and perhaps also Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 to the end of the season.
