Chevrolet Impala: The production goes to the United States

The large sedan Chevrolet Impala will finally remain in product catalog General Motors for several more years.

It is good news and as GM often only good news is the prelude to a bad, here we learn that the production of this car that is currently in Oshawa Ontario will be directed to the Armtrack plant in Michigan.

The assembled models has Armtrack Factory

Cadillac DTS

2013 Chevrolet Malibu

Chevrolet Volt

Opel / Vauxhall Ampera

After announcements investment of $ 121 million to make way for the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu has this plant, here we added $ 69 million more for assembling the next generation Chevrolet Impala is expected to start in 2012 a theatrical release early 2013.

These investments will also result in a creation of 2,500 new jobs which will add to the 1,100 workers already in place. The next year are 60,000 units to be assemblies in this factory.

The assembled models to the Oshawa:

Buick LaCrosse

Buick Regal

Chevrolet Camaro

Chevrolet Impala (for now ...)

Obviously, this decision by GM makes the happiness of Americans as it is for auto workers disarray Ontarians.

General Motors of Canada currently has nearly 2,900 employees and despite this decision, it is possible that this figure remains in force.

The Oshawa plant is a very profitable and more productive among various North American plants of General Motors industrial complex. Thus, it would not be surprising to learn that the departure of the Chevrolet Impala could possibly make way for the assembly of a new model.
