Porsche Panamera S Hybrid: Performance and Energy Efficiency
Producing no issuance at speeds of up to 165 km / h, the Panamera S Hybrid Porsche vehicle is the most fuel efficient of all time.
Porsche Panamera S Hybrid, which will be launched on the market later this year, marks a new stage in regard to the philosophy of Porsche Intelligent Performance development. Without sacrificing its sporting dimension and elegance, the new sedan offers 380 horsepower while consuming only 6.8 L/100 km in accordance with the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) and producing only 159 g / km emissions C02, which makes the Panamera S Hybrid the most economical Porsche vehicle fuel of all time.
It achieves these performance partly thanks to tires with low rolling resistance designed specially for the Panamera. But even equipped with standard performance tires, fuel consumption of the new Porsche is just 7.1 L/100 km and it produces only 167 g / km of C02 emissions.
The Panamera S Hybrid sets new standards for both Porsche for hybrid vehicles in general. Standing start, it goes from 0 to 100 km / h in just six (6) seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 270 km / h. It can travel about two kilometers in electric only mode and reach a speed of 85 km / h. Porsche hybrid drive is also the only system in the world to reduce the fuel consumption high speeds thanks to the function of "cruise" which disengages and shuts the gas engine at speeds up to 165 km / h .
The Panamera S Hybrid is powered by the same proven system that team the Cayenne S Hybrid. The principal of the Panamera S Hydrid propulsion is a supercharged V6 engine developping 3 L 333 horsepower, which joins an electric motor of 47 horsepower. The two modes can function independently or in combination. The electric motor, which can be both a generator and starter, combines is a clutch disconnection so as to form a compact hybrid module located between the combustion engine and the transmission. The electric motor is connected to a battery has metal hydride nickel or electrical energy recovered during braking and driving is accumulated. It is equipped with the same gearbox Tiptronic S eight reports of Cayenne box that provides a wide range of reports.
The level of standard equipment of the Panamera S Hybrid is higher than the Panamera S: adaptive air suspension, adaptive damping system PASM Porsche management Servotronic variable-assist and rear wiper. On the inside, the new Gran Turismo is equipped with an innovative display system that provides the driver with relevant information on the state of the hybrid drive systems of the vehicle.
With the addition of this hybrid vehicle, the Panamera range now comprises six different models. The new Panamera underlines the strategic importance of the Porsche Intelligent Performance philosophy, maintaining the sporting side of the range and showing a sense of ecological responsibility only for this segment. This model builds on the global success of the Panamera considerable: there are already more than 30,000 vehicles sold.
The Panamera S Hybrid will be available in Canada later in 2011 at a cost of $ 108,700.
