The 2.4L engine develops world-class 172 horsepower and 165 lb-ft of torque is standard on all models: Sport, North and Limited. This 2.4L engine world-class features variable valve timing (VVT) to camshafts intake and exhaust, which contributes to optimize the torque curve at each speed and provides more power, better fuel consumption and a smoother and quieter than engines without dual VVT operation. Dual VVT is a technology that is not normally available on vehicles sold in Canada in the price range of the Jeep Compass.
