The Flying Gold 2011: A German preferably

Forty million readers across Europe regularly read the contents of the 26 magazines part of Axel Springer AG group. The best known of them, the magazine Auto Bild is read by an audience of nearly 7 million loyal readers.

For 35 years, the publishers of the popular German magazine Auto Bild tabloid Bild and am Sonntag reveal the names of the vehicles that have merits the title of Golden Steering Wheel in six preset categories.

The jury consists of fifty people, racing drivers, journalists and engineers in mechanical annually choosing the best vehicles available on the German auto chessboard. Among them, we find Ralf Schumacher, the brother of seven-time world champion in Formula 1.

42 vehicles nominated must undergo very rigorous tests on the Pirelli circuit Balocco, Italy.

Finally, the organizers of this highly publicized competition in European ground, also give the mission to elect the man of the year which is best illustrated by his taking decisions that have allowed his company to prosper.

Audi A1 and Citroen DS3 before the Suzuki Swift

Sedans and compact:

Opel Meriva before the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Lexus CT 200h

MPV / ludospaces:

Volkswagen Sharan before the Ford C-Max and Mazda5

Familiar / & Roads:

Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class to the Audi A7 and BMW Serie5

Luxury sedans:

Audi A8 to the Bentley Mulsanne and Jaguar XJ

SUV / SUT:

Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg to the Dacia Duster

Green car:

Peugeot iOn (clone of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV) to the Opel Ampera and Fiat TwinAir.

The title of Man of the Year was awarded to Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of BMW.
