Pontiac Vibe 2005 2008 recalled by Toyota

Toyota recalls Vibe 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Pontiac due to a problem of callage

Toyota Motor Co. announced a recall of security on Thursday due to a defect in the control of the powertrain of vehicles Vibe 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Pontiac. Some 37,409 vehicles are concerned in Canada. Toyota also recalled the Corolla and Matrix vehicles of same year.

The vehicles Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix two wheel drive vehicles are homologous built between April 2004 and January 2008, the former New United Motor Manufacturing Factory Inc., which was a joint venture between GM and Toyota. Vibe and Matrix were both designed by Toyota.

On some of these vehicles, it could have been a problem of manufacturing control module powertrain and it may contain Elements causing premature failure of the unit. In most cases, the light engine may illuminate, there might be shaking clutch or the engine may stall or not start. In rare cases, it may happen that the engine stalls while driving the vehicle.

The owners of a vehicle Vibe receive a preliminary reminder in September and a follow-up letter when the new engine control modules are available. As GM has put an end to the Pontiac brand, the owners will need to bring their vehicles in other GM to make free repair dealers.
