The famous German manufacturer has finally decided to see smaller for automotive work of our southern neighbors.

Here in Canada, we have already and has been for many years, the model Class B compact luxury category, or even small smart Fortwo, property of Daimler AG. Two cars refused outright by dealers of the brand in the United States.

But things will soon changed, as the next generation of Mercedes-Benz B Class, scheduled for release in 2012 will finally offered throughout North America.

And that's not all, as the platform of the latter will also help design four variants of this car. That is to say, the declinations hatchback three and five doors, a so-called classic and a compact crossover sedan.

Currently, the German group engineers are working very seriously to develop greener engines, using as a basis, the current generation of the Mercedes-Benz Class B. All avenues are represented there, whether it's a car powered by a hybrid engine, all electric, or even with a fuel cell.

One might therefore expect that the next Mercedes-Benz B-Class could inherit alternative powertrains.

In addition, the next generation of Class B should normally include the main features of the concept BlueZERO E-Cell Plus.
