Infiniti M35 Hybrid: First Hybrid model of the brand
The Battle of upscale sedans powered by a hybrid engine, will not be limited only to the prestigious Lexus LS 600h L, Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid and BMW 7 Series hybrid has come, since these last will eventually face the Infiniti sedan M35 Hybrid. However, the latter can not join this very select group, that the spring of 2012.

FRANKLIN, Tenn.. (7 October 2009) - Infiniti has confirmed the forthcoming launch production of its first hybrid model from the range of luxury sedans "M" recently revealed and scheduled for commercialization in the spring. This new model, the Infiniti M35 HYBRID, has managed to keep the promises of the Essence concept: high performance and low emission married.
With this launch, Infiniti, iconic Japanese luxury brand sets the bar very high in the world of hybrid vehicles in harmoniously combining sobriety and an attribute which so far has hardly had free rein in hybrids: the pleasure of drive.

Expected 12 months after the conventionally powered version, either from spring 2012, the M35 HYBRID was conceived to increase, and do not sanitize the immense pleasure of driving an Infiniti, one of the great strengths of the brand .
The M35 HYBRID is the first hybrid Infiniti twentieth anniversary of the brand. It is also Infiniti's cleanest and most economical in its history. Based on the all-new Infiniti M whose style is inspired by the famous Essence concept presented early in 2009 at the Salon de l'Automobile in Geneva, the M35 HYBRID remains a luxury sedan high performance - with all the force of a V6 engine and rear wheel drive - and added to these virtues sobriety and the low level of CO2 emissions of a much smaller car.
Infiniti hybrid system, the outcome of the Brand and the Nissan group is is an electric engine block with double clutch. In an innovative way, the first clutch was placed between the atmospheric 3.5-liter V6 and the electric motor. This elegant technical configuration or all components act on a single transmission shaft to rear differential provides consistent and exhilarating sensations whatever driving conditions, with linear accelerations and "direct" answers researched by engineers.
The role of the electric motor is twofold. First, it acts as extra propulsion unit, adding its power to that of the V6 when the circumstances require to use the full capacity of acceleration of the car. On the other hand, it serves as a generator, recharging the battery and recovering energy generated in deceleration and braking energy that normally dissipates and is lost. In certain circumstances, the M HYBRID can also only operate the electricity without consuming fuel.
In this way, the M35 HYBRID can optimize the use of available energy in all driving conditions, promising sobriety never reached so far in the world of large sedans. Details concerning autonomy, performance and transmission will be published subsequently.
As it should from Infiniti, several technologies have been integrated in this new model has like a new lithium-ion battery (Li-ion) "lamellar" occupying the same size as ISSUING conventional battery but double the power. In addition, the lamellar structure promotes cooling of the battery, the thermal stability of the latter being further increased by using a positive electrodes in manganese. These techniques result is a choice of exceptional battery reliability.
Already, the new Infiniti M range showed his ambition to beat its predecessor was both in terms of consumption, emissions and performance and also leisure thanks to many technological improvements.
The M35 HYBRID will be part of the M range, which in Western Europe, will also include a V6 performance diesel. The M series is the first family Infiniti sold in all markets of the brand around the world, currently 33 countries.
