The Smart Fortwo is a series of micro car has both serious and fun. However, to demonstrate its extreme possibilities Daimler AG Industrial Group realized a rather extravagant concept vehicle that has caused much ink since its unveiling at the Auto Show in Athens in 2005.
This 2nd edition of Forfun concept goes beyond the imagination, by the development of an off-road type 'Big Foot', based on two icons belonging to the German conglomerate vehicle. The chassis used by engineers is that the truck Unimog 406.
Unimog is a manufacturer of industrial and commercial vehicles of all kinds, belonging to the Daimler AG Group. These vehicles with multiple uses, are produced by the division of industrial machinery and trucks from Mercedes-Benz.
Thus from a commercial vehicle that was then raised, and which was used huge wheels 26 "in diameter, were grafted adapted for the occasion of mechanical components, a small Smart Fortwo.
To propel the micro 'Big Foot' original fort was opted for a six-cylinder engine Mercedes-Benz diesel 5.8 liter delivering a power of only 84 horsepower, but engine torque reaches 191 lb-ft, even at very low revs. A very expensive German industrial technique, which always gives much more importance to the couple by the report delivree power.
