Volkswagen wants to curb the momentum of the Subaru Outback

It is practically confirms this intention of the German manufacturer offering in North America, a family sport four-wheel drive, which has come to overshadow the popular Subaru Outback.

This is a development version based on the 7th generation Volkswagen Golf, which will inherit forms of Alltrack concept unveiled in 2012 at the Auto Show in New York.

Volkswagen Alltrack Concept

The silhouette of this concept is virtually identical to that of the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack, sold in Europe.

Very close to the model series has come, the Alltrack concept give life a Jetta sport four-wheel drive, more generous dimensions, and, at all levels.

As it should, the car will present UPRIGHT ground clearance, allowing it to overcome inhospitable terrain. To this is added skid plates under the vehicle, and a control system is provided for steep downhill.

Under the hood of the Volkswagen Alltrack concept, we found a four-cylinder 2.0-liter TDI engine with a power of 140 horsepower, mated to a DSG dual clutch transmission has six speeds.

The serial model to come could be called Volkswagen Jetta SportWagon Alltrack.
