Colorado motorcyclist films parking lot scuffle with speeder
A motorcyclist from Colorado was out and about breaking in a new set of tires when he found himself in a steadily escalating road rage incident. According to the Daily Mail, a YouTube user Devin was testing some new tires in a city park when he witnessed a white Nissan speeding and driving erratically through the park. Devin gave chase, but eventually stopped and quickly lost the speeding driver.
"A driver drove like a mad man and I tried to follow," Devin told the Daily Mail. "When I couldn't keep up because of sanity I left it at that."
A few minutes later, Devin saw the white Nissan again and decided to follow and confront the driver with his helmet cam running. Things didn't go as expected, however.
"I should have left it alone but instead I confronted him and let anger make me look like a complete asshole," Devin posted to YouTube.
Devin followed the Nissan to a Wal-Mart parking lot and parked next to it. The driver exited the car and immediately launched into a profanity-laden tirade. The incident escalated, as both the unnamed Nissan driver and Devin hurled insults at one another and cast aspersions on one another's parentage and girlfriends.
Eventually, the Nissan driver started messing with Devin's motorcycle, and that's when the gloves came off. He simulated a sex act with the poor bike, then punched the travel trunk mounted aft of the bike's saddle.
"Do not touch my stuff or I will defend my property," Devin told the Nissan driver. The driver hit Devin's bike one more time and Devin punched him. The fistfight lasted a few moments until Devin finally knocked Mr. Nissan flat. By that point, Wal-Mart employees arrived and broke up the fight. The police arrived eventually to take statements, but no charges were filed.
For the record, there are no good guys here. Chasing down and confronting another driver that you feel was driving poorly is textbook road rage. Devin recorded almost fourteen minutes of the altercation with his helmet cam and uploaded it to his YouTube account. It quickly racked up more than 400,000 views and brought Devin a bit of notoriety. He stated on his YouTube account that he feels ashamed of his actions and the language he used, and said that he will reflect on his actions.
