Subaru will increase its American production plant
After having contemplated the possibility of building an assembly plant in Mexico, it appears according to Nikkei Business, Subaru will rather expand its plant situated in Indiana.
The assembly plant currently manufactures the Lafayette Subaru Legacy and Outback, as well as some versions of the Toyota Camry, is:
170000 Subaru Legacy / Outback / Tribeca;
100000 Toyota Camry.
From 2014, 30,000 additional units are assemblies.
The Subaru brand, which is part of the Japanese conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries, will invest more than $ 300 million to increase by 30%, the production capacity of this plant by 2016.
The success of Subaru in North America, come mainly from sales of the Outback, followed by those of the Legacy. The new Impreza and XV Crosstrek are increasingly in demand.
