For the second weekend in a row, the international news motorsports NASCAR was very marked. It must be said that, for the passionate of Quebec, the presentation of the sixth edition of the weekend NASCAR Montreal at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve was awaited with great anticipation.

Featured Event of the program, the NASCAR Nationwide Series offered a typical road course race, the strategy and several twists being the master-words, with lots and lots of jostling in the final laps!

Qualified in pole position at the controls of a Chevrolet Team Turner, the driver quebecois Alex Tagliani led the first laps under threat from two Team Penske Dodge driven by Sam Hornish Jr. and Jacques Villeneuve. For the arrival, Danica Patrick first, then Jacques Villeneuve, were doors to the command, but in a recovery "Tag" resumed the head. Not for long though as it was sent off track by Villeneuve, he must say that it was not the most skillful maneuvering of his career, far from it!

In the last round, the American Justin Allgaier, teammate Tagliani at Turner Motorsports, in turn destabilizing Villeneuve to take the first rank and filer to victory. Hornish, Villeneuve, the championship leader Elliott Sadler and Ron Fellows Ontarian round off the "Top 5". A spectacular race course, but it is clear that this is the luckiest driver, not the fastest who wins a race that Tagliani, twenty-second at the checkered flag drops, deserved much more than Villeneuve, alas flight once too confused.

Deception also for Patrick Carpentier who was out of retirement driver for the occasion and that has to pit after less than ten laps (mechanical problems on his Toyota) and Andrew Ranger and Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, qualified with inefficient and obliged to stop the car the first third of the ordeal.
