Bruno Spengler is BMW DTM triumph!
In only his second start since joining the ranks of BMW, the driver quebecois Bruno Spengler has realized outstanding performance, nobody expected so early in the season last weekend by winning the race held on the Road Lausitzring circuit (near Berlin, Germany).
Deja author of the pole position, Spengler is still in mind throughout the race but his victory was anything but a walk! Indeed, by bringing Bruno to three wells earlier than his rival Gary Paffett (AMG Mercedes C-Coupe) rounds, Team BMW Team Schnitzer realized that his strategy was not the best, then aligning lap Paffett fastest Bruno uses tires new tires. But when the pilot Team HWA Mercedes effected in turn his mandatory tire change, we lost time at Mercedes and Paffett returned just when going Spengler. The battle for victory could then flare, Spengler resistant tower after tower in the English pilot finally cut the finish line with a second advance.
Bruno Spengler offer BMW's first win since returning to the series. A very important success, the Bavarian manufacturer, which had not been committed in the DTM series since 1992, and being reassured about the potential of its M3 DTM, especially as the Brazilian rookie Augusto Farfus completes the podium at the Lausitzring, behind Paffett and Spengler, and ahead of the Mercedes of Jamie Green and the first Audi A5, Mattias Ekstrom than the Swedes.
If Audi could not do better than a "Top 5" in the DTM, the success has been for total manufacturing in Endurance. At Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) are arguing in effect the second round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Audi Sport fielded four cars, two Audi R18 Ultra TDI model winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2011 12 Hours of Sebring in March, and two brand new R18 e-tron quattro prototype four-wheel drive hybrid engine (diesel / electricity).
If debuts hybrid R18 aroused the attention of all observers, however, is an Ultra R18 pilotees by Romain Dumas and Loic Duval and French by Spaniard Marc Gene, which is imposed. Hybrid Audi Fassler / Lotterer / Treluyer finished second, before another R18 Ultra and the second hybrid R18. If Audi did not gain entry game with his new car, his domination was all the same without sharing with these first four places on arrival.
In North America, the series NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide were in action on the super oval Talladega (Alabama). Presented on Saturday, Nationwide ordeal was marked by the duel between Toyota drivers Kyle Busch and Joey Logano has the advantage of the latter, by a length of wire hood of arrival! Sprint Cup, Brad Keselowski (Dodge) has wins before Kyle Busch, fighting for the second day in a row, and Matt Kenseth (Ford).
Finally, the North American Rally Cup presented an ordeal in Oregon last weekend. Britain's David Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew (Subaru Impreza WRX) have prevailed. The Quebecois Antoine L'Estage (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo.10) had to retire.
