Electric DeLorean: A real back to the future
Everything indicates that the DeLorean, unchallenged star of the film trilogy "Back to the Future" would be on the market in 2013 and this time it would be propelled by electricity.
The DeLorean DMC-12 appeared on the market in 1981 under the direction of John Zachary DeLorean, a former vice-president of General Motors. According to some sources it is nearly 9,000 units that were produced during his short career which is very ended in 1983. Today, it is estimated that more than 6500 DeLorean always run.
The media coverage surrounding this exceptional car for age has rather been directed on his eccentric owner, Mr. DeLorean, including his dealings with various American justice.

In 1985, with the release of the first part of the movie "Back to the Future" series, the DeLorean DMC-12 was able to enjoy again a huge media coverage, but this time more positive.

Since 2007, the DMC company which holds all rights to the name "DeLorean" has debuted the production of the DMC-12 from 80% to 20% original and new pieces pieces.
Quite recently, DMC announced the return of a DeLorean electric motor. The specialist in the design and manufacture of off-road recreational vehicles powered entirely to electricity, Epic EV, will be part of the consortium. The production of this car could to start in 2013 and the starting price could be around $ 100,000 (U.S.).
