No F1 Gymkhana with Ken Block
The American driver Ken Block, winner of multiple tests of American Rally Championship and tries his luck from two seasons in WRC (without much result so far) was at the Canadian Grand Prix in June. There was announcement at a press conference along with leaders of the next Pirelli filming his "Gymkhana 4" to a former Toyota Formula 1 commands used for two years by Pirelli for its tire testing.
Recall that the Ken Block Gymkhana were seen to date by more than 70 million users, putting en scene in acrobatic jumps and rally course (at the time he flew to Subaru) then golf drift to less extreme since it is Ford driver. Block realized all this in order to give the necessary visibility to the company Monster Energy Drink, which has been supporting its debut in rallying.
The new episode with F1 should be running there 4 days on the circuit of Monza (Italy), but it was canceled for some reason has both simple and compelling: Ken, measuring 1 meter 89 and weighs 85 pounds did not return not in the cockpit of the F1, the 2009 Toyota conceived in the era around small jigs Trulli and Glock.
Ken Block (43), Quebec has seen a few times in the rally (it was imposed on the Rallye Baie-des-Chaleurs in 2008), has promised to find another solution very soon in order to realize one day that episode. Several F1 teams were contacted for this.
