RAM dream to offer a more compact truck
In 2006 the Motor Show in Chicago, Dodge Rampage had unveiled its concept whose shape and dimensions were similar to those of oddly Honda Ridgeline.
Voila that five years later the idea to offer a lighter truck in the new truck division RAM resurfaced.
Although at present no decision in this regard has not been taken by senior management products RAM Chrysler LLC, everything seems to let us believe that this idea could become reality very ingenious and faster than you think.
A matter of size
For engineers who will design and develop a future that truck, two possibilities are open to them:
-Replace the Dakota with a more modern truck and similar dimensions
-Go straight to a compact truck and literally abandon Dakota
Personally I opt for the second solution. That is to say, a compact truck whose length is approximately 5300 mm, or barely superior to that of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, Honda Ridgeline, Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma.
The new truck could be marketed in 2013, built on the chassis of the next Dodge Grand Caravan / Chrysler Town & Country and assembles the odds of these has the Canadian plant in Windsor.
