General Motors will invest in a plant in Ontario, PRESERVING 500 jobs
General Motors of Canada produce a new transmission less energy in a factory in southern Ontario.
The Union of Canadian Auto Workers said the investment should preserve some 500 existing jobs in St. Catharines, in addition to ensuring the survival of the plant for 15 to 20 years.
The president of the local union specifies that the transmission has six speeds will power plants in Ontario and the United States.
In April, GM had announced an investment of $ 235 million in St. Catharines to build a new V8 engine, which guaranteed some 400 jobs.
