Subaru Canada the challenge at Targa Newfoundland
Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to announce that Subaru Rally Team Canada will participate, for the seventh consecutive year, the road rally Targa Newfoundland 2009. Impreza WRX STI A specially prepared for the Event will be registered Targa competition. The car will be driven by the Montreal Automobile columnist Marc Lachapelle and co-driver Keith Townsend will be in Toronto. Both are seasoned competitors motorized sports and veterans of the road rally Targa, and their experience will be valuable for the team.
Marc Lachapelle has known success in circuit racing, including three podium places in the endurance of 24 hours of Mosport. Marc also participated in twice Targa Newfoundland, finishing the first two times in his category and sixth overall in 2008. His co-driver Keith Townsend is mounted several times on the podium, as was a pilot as copilot Canadian performance rally. Keith has participated twice in the Targa Newfoundland, winning his class even the Modern division, and finishing third overall in a 2006 Subaru WRX STI series.

Targa Newfoundland is the only event of its kind in North America and one of only three to be recognized on an international scale. This year, the Targa will be held from September 13 to 18 about 2 200 km of paved roads in the central and eastern portion of Newfoundland, including nearly 400 km of timed special stages on public roads will be closed to road traffic during the ordeal.
