Ford presented its 100 000th hybrid vehicle

It is with pride that the workers of the Ford plant in Kansas City, have assembled quite recently, the 100 thousandth hybrid vehicle produced at their factory. It is a model Escape gray color that was a standing ovation by management and workers. Recall, that this plant there also manufactures the Mercury Mariner, a small twin brother of the Ford Escape, but not available on Canadian soil, the Mazda Tribute and some versions of the popular Ford F-150.

This plant employs some 4,100 employees who assemble since 2004 the first hybrid SUV in the world, the Ford Escape.

Today, this friendly compact SUV has become the darling of several taxi companies American cities, including San Francisco which includes a fleet of 250 Escape Hybrid and New York is increasingly invaded by beyond 1 400 Escape Hybrid obviously yellow.
