Bridgestone Firestone announces price increase
Bridgestone Firestone Canada Inc. (BFCA) and Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFCA) announced that they have increased their prices by Bridgestone and Firestone tires as well as the price of their associated brands. This increase can go up to 10% price passenger tire vehicles and light trucks, trucks and buses, motorcycles, agricultural machinery and off-road vehicles, receive replacement tires, tires of original equipment and the export networks. The new prices will come into force on 1 September 2008.
"As a company, we have to face a shortage of essential in the manufacture of our tires raw materials. Therefore, the price of materials, including natural rubber and butadiene, has greatly increased. Furthermore, the continuous increase in prices of petrol and diesel, affects all aspects of our business, from production to distribution, and makes this increase necessary, "said Ashahiko" Duke "Nishiyama, Vice-President Council and president of Bridgestone Americas Holding, Inc., parent company of BFNT.
