Lexus Launches Lexus Design Award
The winners of the 2012 competition concepts will be exposed during the Milan Design Week 2013.
Lexus announces the launch of Lexus Design Award, which will competition designers from all over the world.
Lexus Design Award aims to offer to young innovators the opportunity to create a prototype of their concept with the help of a world-known designer who will act as mentor. Targeting candidates aged 30 and under, Lexus hopes this initiative help to encourage and support young creators.
"Lexus is animated by a new spirit brand back, reinvigorated and reinvented who will design a performance through new levels of luxury," stated Cyril Dimitris, Director, Lexus Canada. "This is a truly unique competition and we are delighted to encourage talented Canadian creators ay participate. "
The theme of the Lexus Design Award 2012 is motion - a word and a concept closely related to the life of every day. Lexus has therefore called innovators present work on this theme that show a deep understanding of the conceptual language of Lexus, interpret concepts original way, see things in an unusual perspective and provide fresh solutions to various problems of everyday life . Innovators from all disciplines are welcome, such as those in the fields of architecture, product design or fashion.
The registration period begins today and continues until December 31. The winners will be announced and their designs will be exposed during the Milan Design Week in April 2013. The official launch of the competition will take place at the Lexus booth TOKYO DESIGNERS WEEK.
The concept of progressive luxury Lexus that allows a manufacturer to present a vision and values that are different from those of conventional luxury brands. Lexus strives not only to create vehicles of a superlative luxury, but also technical progress such as the Lexus hybrid system.

Call for participation in the Contest Price 2012 Lexus design
Registration: October 30 to December 31, 2012
Theme: Motion Eligibility
Participants (individual or in a group, all nationalities) must be aged 30 years or less
Depth understanding of the concepts of competition and unique interpretation of these concepts.
Originality of perspective and proposed solutions facing the theme.

Price / rewards
Ten concepts will win a prize. The creators of the winning designs will be invited to the Milan Design Week *.
Of the ten winning designs, two receive up to 5 million yen (about $ 62,000 CAD) each to cover the costs of production of prototypes. The designers of the two winning concepts will create prototypes between February and March 2013 with the help of two mentors in person.
The two prototypes, as well as illustrations of the other eight winning designs will be exhibited at the booth of the Lexus Design Week Milan 2013.
