Corvette ZR1, prices and technical data

Test results of official performance of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 have arrived, and they are good. Excellent, in fact:

· Acceleration from 0 to 96 km / h: 3.4 seconds

· Acceleration from 0 to 160 km / h: 7.0 seconds

· Time taken to travel a quarter mile (0.4 km): 11.3 seconds to 210 km / h

· Performance and energy efficiency compared to unbeatable price: MSRP $ 125,195

The Corvette ZR1 can reach a top speed of 330 km / h (205 mi / h), making it the fastest Corvette ever produced and placed on an equal footing with the supercar world. Its power density advantage gives him an edge over the competition.

"The ZR1 is an amazing car in all respects," according to Marc Comeau, vice-president of sales, after-sales and marketing for GM of Canada. "There is simply no other vehicle in the world that offers a balance just as performance, fuel consumption and reduced quality-price ratio. "

Under the hood carbon fiber of the new supercharged ZR1 engine purrs a compact 6.2L LS9 block. Alternative components has both heavy-duty and lightweight support high-rpm performance, while a new compressor volumetric Roots of the sixth generation and cooling system has auxiliary load (which lowers the temperature of the intake air maximizing its performance) helps the LS9 develop a considerable power and torque throughout the rev range. The engine was assembled by hand at GM's Performance Build Center, in Wixom, Michigan.

Besides the engine, the ZR1 is a true technological marvel. It is made of lightweight and unique components that enhance performance and provide the driver with greater assurance on the highway as on any other circuit. Together, these elements allow the ZR1 to deliver the performance of a supercar while consuming fuel in quantities so small that competitors are unable to match. (It is estimated the fuel consumption 15.6 L/100 km city and 10.2 L/100 km on the highway.)
