Porsche 911 Carrera S 2013: the best design of the year
At a morning press conference held at the opening of the International Auto Show in Toronto Canada, the award for "Best New Design of the year 2013" of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) was attributed to the Porsche 911 Carrera.
"We are very pleased that the design of the 911 has received such recognition, stated Joe Lawrence, President and Chief Executive Officer of Porsche Cars Canada, Ltee. Although new, this latest generation of the iconic sports car continues to stand out with its unique silhouette. This is one of its immediately recognizable of features eye since its launch 50 years ago. "
The three finalists for the "Best Design 2013" were the Cadillac ATS, Porsche 911 Carrera S and Porsche Boxster.
Porsche 911 Carrera S has also been declared the winner in the AJAC "Best Car of prestige and performance (over $ 75,000)" category, last October.
The purpose of the award for "Best Design" AJAC is to identify and reward the vehicle that presents the ideal balance between form and use. Therefore, the AJAC journalists have based their selection of the winner on aesthetics, function and brand essence. The score for aesthetic reflects the incredible beauty of the design. In regard to the operation, the results testing how and at what level the practical requirements of this type of vehicle are met. Finally, the brand essence considers its success in conveying the image, heritage and the values of a particular brand.
The program CCOTY AJAC was established in 1985 in order to provide consumers with sound, comparative information on new vehicles invading the market.
That is why the results of the voting determined today's winners are diffuse on the website AJAC for consumers that can be used as buying guide.
