Toyota produced its 5 millionth vehicle in Canada
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc. (TMMC) built its 5 millionth vehicle in Canada, a red Lexus RX350.

General Information:
TMMC began its activities in Cambridge, Ontario, in 1988 in a building conceived for only 50,000 vehicles per year plant, about the same number of vehicles Toyota sold in Canada at that time.
Today, TMMC has the capacity to build more than 500,000 vehicles per year at its plants in Cambridge and Woodstock, Ontario.
Toyota now built more than two vehicles in Canada for each vehicle Toyota sold in Canada.

Toyota Corolla and Toyota Matrix models built in North Cambridge TMMC plant
Toyota RAV4 and RAV4 EV models built factory in West Woodstock TMMC

The current number of employees has increased from 1,000 in 1988 staff provided over 6500.
TMMC keeps going and experiencing a remarkable growth. The Woodstock plant will create 400 new jobs by January 2013 and construction of the Lexus Cambridge REQUIRE additional 400 employees by January 2014.
