Jeep has terminated the production of its model Liberty
The announcement had already been made regarding the disappearance of the Jeep Liberty, which followed the end of production of the Dodge Caliber.
The Jeep Liberty is also available in Europe under the Cherokee name.
The last model out of the assembly line Thursday, August 16.
After 11 years of loyal service, it will be replaced next year by a new vehicle, developed around the platform of the Dodge Dart.
A more efficient plant
For the occasion, the Toledo plant will be redesigned to accommodate the production model that will take the place of the Jeep Liberty.
One way to do that need investments of about $ 1.7 billion, of which almost half were dedicated to the redevelopment of the assembly plant.
Popular Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited are also assembled in this plant.
World Premiere in Detroit
Replacing the Jeep Liberty will make its world debut in January at the International Motor Show in Detroit.
