Mitsubishi Launches RVR production in the United States

The RVR vehicles sold in Canada are produced in the U.S.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today announced the start of production of the vehicle compact crossover RVR (Outlander Sport in the United States) has its North American plant in Normal, Illinois.

Until recently, the Illinois plant produced models specially designed for the North American market, such as the Galant, Eclipse, Eclipse Spyder and Endeavor. Henceforth, the plant will produce the RVR for the Canadian market, the Outlander Sport in the United States, as well as equivalent models for markets of Russia, South America, Central America and the Middle East.

The planned production capacity of the factory in Illinois is about 50,000 units, and MMC is considering a later expansion that would raise a 70,000 units.

The RVR was the vehicle of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada's most popular in June, with 821 deliveries in a month or total record sales reached 2,089 vehicles.
