Loeb, Vettel or Stewart driver of the year 2011?
As the year ends, it is traditional in the world of motor sport to try to determine who really was the ultimate driver of the season. 2011 did not escape a habit that has nothing scientific, especially since it must be admitted that the greatest feat has been accomplished not necessarily in the most mediatic series or the most prestigious.
Thus, the eighth world title Sebastien Loeb in the World Rally Championship has not made the public media, which for the most part completely unaware of the intricacies of this discipline. However, Loeb became the first driver series all together, has a unhook eighth world crown. We add to these worlds most important international series (IndyCar and NASCAR in particular) that can not always find someone who has realized such a feat today. They are called Michael Schumacher Formula 1 Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Sr NASCAR, they are now outdated by the number of championships earned by what phenomenon Sebastien Loeb.
In, Formula 1 difficult to ignore the second world title for another harvest Sebastien, a spelling the German one: Sebastian Vettel. When you look at the statistics, the pilot of Red Bull Racing had the upper hand in the 2011 F1 season from first to last Grand Prix. If in 2010, he had to wait for the ordeal to be ultimate crown, his 2011 season was much more clear, Vettel showing his dominance in the image of his illustrious predecessor to palmares German Michael Schumacher.
We believe that the third driver that deserves more honors from the year 2011 international motorsport is Tony Stewart. Less than two years after having created his stables NASCAR, Stewart has won the most important title in the series, the Sprint Cup. A success gained in extremis, with the same number of points but thanks Carl Edwards has a total of five wins is one. Stewart is a pilot "to the old" it's not he who invented public relations, that's for sure! But it is a winner, a true. Brilliant business, it is equally in its strategies on track. A great champion who ended the four years of success of Jimmie Johnson with a fully deserved title.
To conclude this tribute to the 2011 champions, it would be remiss not to mention drivers like Dario Franchitti (IndyCar), Germans Lucas Luhr and Michael Krumm (bright little mediatic laureates of the World Championship of GT cars) or Champions North Americans like the Quebecois Antoine L'Estage rally. Passion, professionalism and talent are the key words to describe.
They will all be the 2012, ready to put their title in. ..
