Fisker Karma: Start of production
The American manufacturer Fisker officially announced the start of production of its Karma sedan PHEV propulsion. She became the first luxury car or even prestige be provided with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
It was unveiled at the International Motor Show in Detroit in 2008 and took the small American manufacturer three years to realize his fondest dream.

Rechargeable hybrid technology used by engineers is similar to that found under the hood of the Chevrolet Volt. However, Karma powertrain consists of two electric motors on the rear axle places which together shall develop a power of 402 horses. They are powered by a lithium-ion battery.
