Rally for Alternative Energy: A 4th edition raised and more competitive

Maxime Caron and Marc Quirion, driving a Honda Insight Hybrid 2010 have won the 4th edition of the Rally for Alternative Energy fight the last weekend in the Laurentians. The winners of the Honda team were followed almost on arrival by the team of the musician, actor and presenter Luck Mervil and Laurence-Fanny L'Estage that rolled in a Toyota Prius Hybrid 2011. The third row and the third step of the podium is the German world champions Cup title alternative energies Raymond Durand and John Caro also driving a Toyota Prius Hybrid 2011.

Twenty teams, traveling mainly in hybrid cars and hybrid plug-took part in the fourth edition of the Rally for Alternative Energy, the only road race America's Cup alternative energies, an event sanctioned by the International Federation of Automobile (FIA ). The ordeal of a duration of two days was played on over 500 km in the Laurentians and culminates Sunday after-noon Montreal at Phillips Square or had settled Place Energy Mobility alternative.

This technology showcase was attended by several exhibitors, including Hydro-Quebec, Honda, Toyota, the Agency to Energy Efficiency, Enerkem GreenField Ethanol and an important academic component. The population had a chance to familiarize themselves with the latest innovations in energy efficient vehicles and to discover new sources of renewable energy as the second generation biofuels from waste products of the company quebecoise Enerkem. The only Tesla rolling in Quebec, a fully electric car roadster-type property of the film director Pierre Seguin, did turn many heads during the weekend.

The fifth edition of the Rally for Alternative Energy is scheduled for September 30, October 1 and 2, 2011.
