Total Lubricants Canada (Total) and Ultramar Ltee (Ultramar) have today announced the acquisition by Total lubricants activities Ultramar and the signing of a partnership for the sale of lubricants brand Total.
This alliance between the two groups will allow Ultramar customers benefit from a wide range of automotive and industrial lubricants Total has the latest technology including synthetic products, energy saving or biodegradable.
Total henceforth be the privileged partner of Ultramar for lubricants and, as such, service stations exploited by Ultramar Total lubricants offer to their clientele. Ultramar also recommend Total lubricants to its business partners.
"With this new partnership, Total Lubricants continues its development in Canada and more generally in North America. We believe that our technology will bring real value to our mutual customers, both in the automobile industry, and hope to continue our overall development in Canada, "said Olivier Goutal, President of Total Lubricants Canada.
Total Lubricants in Montreal has a unit of production of lubricants with a capacity of 35,000 tons, built in 2000 and ISO9001 certified. The company employs 54 people and has offices in Montreal, Quebec, Toronto and Calgary.
Jean Bernier, President of Ultramar Ltee has stated: "We are pleased that this new partnership with Total gives our customers access to a product recognized brand in the highly specialized lubricants segment, while ensuring their services more competitive ".

Ultramar, whose head office is located in Montreal, owns and operates the Jean-Gaulin refinery has Levis, near Quebec City, whose current production capacity is 265,000 barrels of oil per day. It markets gasoline and diesel fuel through a network of nearly 830 service stations and convenience stores, 85 cardlocks destined to the trucking industry, in addition to selling home heating oil some 137,000 customers.
