Nissan will further reduce its production and the number of his acting

The Japanese automaker Nissan announced Wednesday it would reduce its production of 78,000 additional vehicles and cut 500 jobs temporary workers.

In a statement, Nissan has specified that these cuts were decided to avoid overstocking while sales recorded a decline globally.

Nissan says that the removal of INTERIM will run from January to March 2009. At the same time, the Japanese firm will also temporarily halt production in January of several models intended for the domestic market as well as its production of engines.

Nissan has reduced its production several times over the past year for a total of 225,000 vehicles, a decrease of 16 percent compared to its forecast production of 1.388 million vehicles for the fiscal year during which stops in March.

Other Japanese firms such as Toyota and Suzuki have also reduced their interim staff and production.
