Lexus LS 460 2009 will be proposed with integral traction

Lexus has announced the addition of AWD models (AWD) has its range of luxury sedans flagship LS 460 and LS 460 L (a long wheelbase). The Lexus LS series redefines the concept of luxury sedan with a vehicle that epitomizes the vision of contemporary luxury Lexus. The 2009 model expands the range of AWD vehicles from Lexus. The LS 460 is thus the fourth luxury sedan with AWD, after the IS 250, GS 350 and LS 600h L.     

The AWD models of the LS 460 and LS 460 L utilize a drivetrain almost identical to that of the LS 600h L hybrid. The AWD system is provided with a central Torsen differential (R) slip boundary highly compact replied the drive torque between the front and rear wheels. Under normal driving conditions, the torque distribution favors the rear wheels due to 60:40, but it can instantly change the front and rear and optimal manner between 30:70 and 50:50 depending of the evolution of driving conditions.

The LS 460 and LS 460 L AWD are powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine paired to the first 8-speed automatic transmission has the world as the model equivalent to drive back. The AWD models shall develop 357 horsepower and 344 lb-ft of torque.     

In addition to the features of luxury, convenience and safety which equip the current LS 460, both AWD models will come standard with air suspension, steering has variable gear ratio (VGRS) and the variable suspension adaptive (AVS). The VGRS system selects the gear ratio according to vehicle speed, improving accuracy and mastery of the vehicle. The system also VGRS works in conjunction with the integrated management system of the vehicle dynamics (VDIM), making imperceptible its adjustment to improve handling when conditions are difficult.     

The AWD models are also equipped with standard 18-inch wheels shod with all-season tires, a heated steering wheel leather sheath and wood trim and a screen visor assists rear window for a touch of luxury Supplemental.     

Lexus LS 2009 AWD will be on sale at Canadian dealerships in September 2008.
