Volkswagen eT! : A new alien

Nothing to do with the great Steven Spielberg film "ET" ... The Volkswagen eT! is rather a delivery vehicle designed with the complicity of the German postal service.

This vehicle is developed based on the concept Bulli. However, unlike the latter, which presented itself as a family vehicle, the Volkswagen eT! is a commercial van for delivery. This small but very generous ad van length 4090 mm, which is close to that of a Kia Soul.

Its main features:

Cote passenger, dual sliding door shutters, gives access to the cargo or passenger seat section.

At the rear, two large doors that open generously come easy access to the cargo section.

Despite its compact dimensions, the Volkswagen eT! itself offers a pleasantly generous and especially of the most versatile cargo. Its loading space is 4100 liters.

An electronic tablet used to be in constant communication with the central services positions. It tells the various vagaries of postal traffic, or even the residences or found not too friendly dog.

Three modes

This superb prototype can move in three ways.

The first, is a rather conventional to drive and influence the accelerator.

The second is to sit in the front passenger seat, take the joystick Joystick kind reliee at the wheel and the accelerator and drive the prototype up to a speed limited only 6 km / h.

Third, we can direct the vehicle from the outside through a remote control designed for this purpose. Cameras and sensors places around the body allow the vehicle to avoid obstacles in its path.

Electric motors

Volkswagen eT! a fully electric propulsion is driven by two electric seats in each of the rear wheel motors.

The manufacturer refers to a range of 110 km.
