Massive recall by Hyundai and Kia
South Korean manufacturers Hyundai and Kia announced the recall of about 1.9 million vehicles possibly hit by troubles airbags and brake switches witness.
The U.S. authorities have found that the faulty switches could prevent fires of vehicles to turn at the back when you press on the brake pedal. In addition, it is possible that such pressure no longer causes the automatic disengagement of the cruise control, as it should when it was active.
The models possibly affected by these troubles are the Hyundai Accent, Elantra, Genesis cut, Sonata, Santa Fe, Tucson and Vera Cruz, the same as the Kia Optima, Rondo, Sportage, Soul, Sorento and Sedona. All these vehicles are years 2007 2009.
On the other hand, the models of Hyundai Elantra 2011 year 2013 are also being recalled because an airbag support could detach and cause injury during deployment.
