Massive recall of Japanese vehicles
Four major Japanese automakers, Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Nissan are recalling more than two million vehicles around the world as an airbag could be defective.
The number of recalled vehicles at Honda rises to 1.1 million, including 107,000 in Canada, while it is 1.7 million Toyota, including some 580,000 in North America.
Nissan recalls for his share 480 000 vehicles and Mazda, 45000, but do not know how to run Canada.
The subcontractor Japanese Takata Corporation, which manufactures airbags that are believed defective, notes that other manufacturers could be keys, but no additional details were provided.
Honda Canada says that in case of impact, the airbag of recalled vehicles may deploy with too much pressure to the point where he could to rupture and injure people on board the cabin.
Honda was informed that an accident was attributed to this problem but no injuries have been inflicted.
In Canada, Honda models referred are: nearly 81,000 Civic and Acura 1.7 EL 11000, compact sedans year 2001 2003 6140 CR-V small crossover 2002 and 2003 and nearly 10,000 fourgonnerttes Odyssey Year 2002.
Are unknown Toyota, Mazda and Nissan models affected.
