Toyota recalls more than 7 million vehicles around the world
Specifically, we're talking about a recall affecting 7.43 million vehicles for the faults detected in the level of the electric windows. Thus, a lack of lubrication can cause a sudden stop of the electrical system, or even cause a short circuit.
Depending on the models and regions referred, we talk about vehicles assembled between 2005 and 2010.
In North America, this recall involves mainly the Toyota Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Matrix, Sequoia, Tundra and Yaris. In the latter, must be added the Scion xB and xD.
The recall affects:
- 2.7 million vehicles in the United States;
- 1.4 million vehicles in China;
- 1.4 million vehicles in Europe;
- 240,000 vehicles in Canada.
So far, we found no serious accident has been caused by this technical problem.
The owners of the vehicles covered by the recall will receive a registered letter eventually, which will invite them to go to the dealer to conduct an audit or replacement of the faulty system.
