Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid: it beats the Volt and LEAF
Even if it has just be offered to our neighbors to the south, the plug-in hybrid version of the Toyota Prius tops sales in its category, capping the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan LEAF.
In April, the car has seen a record pass 1654 units while the Chevrolet Volt has made 1462 new friends and the Nissan LEAF has to settle boundary shipments only 370 copies.
Last month, Toyota delivers a total of 25,168 Prius across the United States. A record for the Japanese manufacturer.
By combining deliveries and hybrid vehicles Toyota Lexus, it is 30,126 units sold, an increase of 124.6% compared to figures for April 2011.
Canada has not escaped the wave
Toyota Canada has elapsed 1,931 hybrid vehicles in April, which represents an increase of 266.4%. Of these, there are 1422 Prius for an increase of 471%.
With 556 units sold, the new Prius C is already the third sales subcompact cars of the company.
Despite a decline of 17.6% height, the Lexus division sees the number of hybrid vehicles represent 18.8% of deliveries in April.
