Peugeot 408: First car out of the assembly line in Kaluga, Russia

On April 16, the first 408 pre-series, designed specifically for the Russian market is output production lines at the factory Kaluga. The Peugeot 408 is a global project developed for three main steps of the brand: Russia, China and Latin America. For each of these steps, the 408 has been the subject of specific adaptations to climatic conditions, the road network and preferences of local customers. The team of engineers who worked in Russia on the draft 408 has performed extensive testing on the vehicle taking into account the local driving conditions.

The Peugeot 408 combines expressive style, excellent maneuverability and high level of security. This model embodies the Russian march, modernity and efficiency in the range of Peugeot family sedan. With a length of 4,703 m, a record for this segment, and a wheelbase of 2.71 m, the 408 offers excellent habitability and enhances the comfort of rear passengers. It offers a safe larger capacity, 526 liters, while the width of 1.815 m and height of 1,505 m provide excellent security for lateral shock and habitability at the forefront of the industry. This new vehicle generation, benefited from international experience of Peugeot taking into account climatic specificities and Driving Russia.

It will be manufactured at the plant in Kaluga with quality standards at the highest international level, to provide a high level of satisfaction demanding clientele C-segment in Russia.
