Peugeot 508 voted "Car of the Year 2012" in Algeria
The Peugeot 508 won the first trophy of the "Car of the Year 2012" in Algeria, trophy awards by Club Algerians Automobile Journalists (CJAA), during a ceremony in a grand hotel in Algiers.
The jury, composed of 19 professional journalists, was judged according to several criteria (style, quality, price, consumption, driving dynamics, comfort, security ...), new models marketed in the Algerian market during the year 2011.
Has 508 wins ahead of the Ford Focus, Citroen C4, the KIA Sportage and the Nissan Micra. Launched in May 2011 in Algeria, the 508 has very quickly seduce the Algerian clientele, and is hoisted in a few months a 2nd place in the M2 segment.
After the title "Car of the Year 2012" produced in Spain and Portugal, this new reward confirms the qualities recognized the great routiere Peugeot.
As a reminder, the Algerian car market is growing strongly since last year (301,400 vehicles in 2011, or +32% vs. 2010).
Peugeot finished 2011 3rd place with 11.1% of market shares and a record sales: 33,336 vehicles (+46% vs. 2010).
