Grand Prix F1 in New Jersey from 2013!
While the permanent circuit in Austin, Texas, is being built to host its first Formula 1 Grand Prix in November 2012, Bernie Ecclestone has managed to convince private developers to organize a second race in the United States , commencing in 2013 at New Jersey.
According to what was announced yesterday, there will be a temporary street circuit track in the heart of the cities of West New York and Weehawken, located just steps from Lincoln Tunnel that leads to the center of the island of Manhattan. It will be a race with the New York skyscrapers in the background, exactly what Ecclestone dreamed since the end of the Indianapolis Grand Prix in 2007.
In terms of timing, the ordeal, which should be called the "Grand Prix of America" (the name the U.S. GP in Austin being already reserved), scheduled to take place one week after the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. This is usually the beginning program in June
So there should be three Formula 1 races in North America of 2013 ... Unless this ordeal future urban New Jersey is "Plan B" Bernie Ecclestone if ever the Austin circuit, delays Construction accumulate for a few months, had to die in the egg!
