Chevrolet Impala 2009 and 2010: A simple reminder

Declaration of GM Canada about the recall of cars Chevrolet Impala

General Motors of Canada recalls 19,304 Chevrolet Impala models from year 2009 and 2010 to detect a small number of vehicles in which the strap of the seat belts before may not have been subject to the tensioner anchor the lap belt mounts on the side of the seat closer to the door.

Keys in vehicles, anchoring could detach collision and, therefore, not be consistent with the requirements of resistance anchors Canadian and American standards on safety of motor vehicles relating to anchorages for seat belts. The vehicles were only sold in Canada and the United States.

Dealers will ensure the proper installation of anchors to pretensioners seat belts front and, if necessary, reinstall the anchors. GM is not aware of any injury or mortality related to this problem. Customers will be notified by mail, around 25 October, go to the dealership for a free verification of their vehicle. All repairs under the recall will be performed free of charge.
