Subaru launches mobile website for users of smart phones
Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today announced the launch of a mobile version of its website specifically for users of smart phones. No separate application is required - users simply enter the URL of Subaru (http://www.subaru.ca) address in the search window of their portable web browser. Customers will then be instantly connected to the mobile version of the corporate website Subaru meme that Subaru dealers across Canada.
Mobile version of www.subaru.ca allows potential buyers to quickly learn about the specifications of vehicles, prices, details on leasing and financing, used vehicles, and enjoy as a locator dealer using the integrated GPS to most mobile devices to find the closer dealer. Currently, the website supports applications mobile navigation iPhone and Android. The access to the Blackberry and mobile Internet devices using the Windows platform will follow shortly.
"Even if users of mobile Internet devices will represent at the present time only two percent of the total traffic on our Web site and www.subaru.ca those of our dealers, it is nevertheless thousands of visitors and this number increases constantly "says George Hamin, Director of eBusiness and IT systems has SCI. He adds, "we want all users accedent quickly and easily for the desired information, and an important aspect of this process is to allow them to contact a dealer close to home."
Subaru is now becoming one of only three Canadian manufacturers of vehicles to offer Web access to mobile Internet devices users, and one of only two to allow mobile access to its network of dealers. (*)
