Audi A1: The countdown has started ...

By its official unveiling in the next car show in Geneva in March, Audi provides for us to unveil dropper, via internet, small subcompact luxury car, the A1. The latter will become the first rival to the size very popular Mini Cooper BMW.

Thus, after we have announced in the last two years, two warning concepts of eventual arrival of a small Audi, voila promises the first declension of the latter. This is a first step, a three-door cut to rather aggressive lines for a car of this niche.

First the cut

In the light of breves information that were given us so far, we can easily imagine that the cut will inherit the genes of the concept presented in Tokyo, but the general lines seem more angular, particularly in terms of its flag.

The model that promises will, I think, a nicer and certainly more accomplished than the conceptual cut silhouette. Cote dimensions, they will be within a few centimeters, equivalent to those of the Mini Cooper. Is a total length of 3990 mm.

Stefan Sielaff, head designer at Audi, the aesthetic approach of the small A1 will be much different from that of model A3, so that each is able to maintain its own philosophy. By chance and it was like the Mini Cooper, the future Audi A1 offer many accessories, thus allowing its owner to be driving a car personnalisee.

Like any vehicle claw Audi A1 shall be accorded the small gate house very aggressive 'Single-Frame', which will present an opportunity to own in this cheeky little design.

And other versions

Audi A1 after the cut that should be commercialized commencing autumn 2010, a five-door hatchback version will follow a few months. At the last, will be added to S1 and convertible versions in 2011.
