Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric propulsion is available from November 2009 in Canada
MMSC, the BC government, BC Hydro and the City of Vancouver concluded a joint agreement
Mitsubishi Canada (MMSC) today announced that the i MiEV electric car its new zero-emission, could happen on the roads in November 2009.
Under a joint agreement between MMSC, Mitsubishi Canada Ltd, the Government of British Columbia, BC Hydro and the City of Vancouver, the i MiEV, the first electric car powerful enough for highway and ready for production, would be put to the test by BC Hydro and the City of Vancouver on the roads of the province by the end of the year.
Pursuant to the MOU, a car will be added to park vehicles BC Hydro and another to that of the City of Vancouver, which could test the car and assess performance. The agreement provides for also adding other cars as they are produced.

"The i MiEV is the result of know-how Mitsubishi Motors in matters of green technologies. We believe in this car, its potential and its future."

"As we look to new and innovative technologies, we get to meet our goal of reducing emissions of greenhouse gas emissions by 33% by 2020."

Announced in October 2006, the Mitsubishi i MiEV is the culmination of the work achieved by Mitsubishi Motors to turn a profit green technology. Currently being tested and promotional activities in Japan, New Zealand, Australia, the United States and Europe, the i MiEV will be launched in Japan during the summer of 2009.
