Toyota Yaris and Prius won the prize in 2008 ecoENERGY for Vehicles
Toyota Canada Inc. announced today that the federal government received two awards honoring the most fuel-efficient vehicles in their category in the context of the 2008 edition of the program price ecoENERGY for vehicles. Natural Resources Canada announced the winners of the award today at the International Auto Show in Toronto.
Here are the Toyota vehicles more energy efficient in their respective category:
- 2008 Toyota Yaris (manual gearbox): Subcompact most efficient with a rating of 7 L/100 km city and 5.5 L/100 km on the highway. The Yaris has won the prize in this category for three consecutive years ... actually since this fiery little model of European inspiration was launched in the Canadian market.
- 2008 Toyota Prius: Intermediate most efficient with a rating of 4 L/100 km city and 4.2 L/100 km on the highway. The revolutionary Prius was the first hybrid-car electricity produced in series in the world; it has since become the global symbol of hybrid vehicles.
